this seems genius, why wouldnt it work. This actually saved plastics especially when placed at the top around the worm where the hook is going through the worm it keeps the hook from tearing through the plastics when you get strikes. I also like that the ring fits flush to the worm making it less likely to pick up vegetation. the traditional slip weight is just another opportunity to get hung up.

I haven’t tried these yet , but it’s a good idea to have a weight that goes all the way around the worm body instead of the weight attached to the hook….the hook will run parallel with the worm body , giving slightly better chance of hang ups
